Wafrica and Toyota Europe Design & Development present a vehicle art form
that combines Japanese and West Africa esthetic at Maison de la Culture du
Japon in Paris.

With a sly wink to Zeami’s famous Noh play Hagoromo « Feathered Gown » based on the legend of a celestial maiden who must retrieve a lost robe to fly back up to the heavens, this floating « Feather Wind » installation was created in collaboration with the Toyota Europe Design Development Centre and haute couture feather-crafting artist Eric Charles-Donatien. A « vehicle » for the idea of pure motion and the mystique of flight, the airborne piece salutes the visions of freedom shared by migrants everywhere. It was exhibited at the Maison du Japon à Paris in 2020.
