 The essence of Chanoyu « the Way of Tea » consists in ichigo-ichie « sharing an unrepeatable moment » through heightened aesthetic appreciation of humanity and nature over a bowl of tea. Hypnotic West African drum chants and butoh shadow play guide our attention to an awareness of kigen « origins. »
