Golgoth II

Urushi, the art of Japanese lacquer meets the power of West African masks.

In the second phase of the artistic collaboration between Serge Mouangue and Japanese lacquer master Masaru Okawara, an antique wooden mask representing an imaginary animal from the Bambara tribe in Mali was transformed with sharp lines and a majestic black coat of urushi lacquer, giving birth to a new dimension.
